8 | THE COLONY NEWS | NOVEMBER 2021 | COMMITTEE NEWS By Gloria Brosky, Jodi Harris, Diane Schultz & Marsha Tobolski Fall is definitely upon us! Cooler temperatures are very welcome, and holidays are coming up fast! This month, we will be including some helpful reminders which transverse all seasons in The Colony and Southern California. • Check those rain gutters and drains just in case we are fortunate enough to get some rain. • Don't forget driveways and side walkways. Fix cracks, fill, resurface and clean stains before they become a major issue. • Contractors and vendors work hours are 7 am to 6 pm Monday through Saturday only. • Mesh barriers on gates or wrought iron fences can be black only. Gate barriers can be the color of the gate. • Exterior window roll up shades are NOT allowed on front elevations. Roll-up shades must be approved by the ACC if visible from the common areas. • Pay close attention to older rotting wooden patio covers. These can be infested with termites which can be transferred to your neighbor's property and can cause extensive and expensive damage, not to mention transferring to your own house! Do repairs and painting before this occurs. • For a final inspection for work that has been completed, please call Colleen or Elizabeth in the office. That is the only way to be sure your project is finalized. At the present time, there is one available seat open on the Committee. Please contact the HOA Office for an Application to Serve if you are interested. The monthly report from Community Patrol indicates the following activity and violations that Nordic Security responded to and/or assisted with in keeping with the safety and welfare for the Association: Security Statistics For September 2021, there were a total of 21,414 gate entries recorded, comprised of guests, recreational vehicles, vendors and golfers.
