12 12 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | NOVEMBER 2021 | | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | NOVEMBER 2021 | Welcome November! Let's hope summer is truly over! It was long and hot. The Library Committee wishes everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. We have the perfect book to read in the library, Grateful for the Color Blue, by Four Season author, Ellyn Wolfe. It is an important memoir of loss and survival. Ellyn will be speaking Nov. 4, at 2 pm, in the Ballroom. Plan to be there to support our FS author! The committee would like to send our thanks to Mari Salazar for her artful work in the library. The new baskets are beautiful and the plant stand is awesome! The added baskets allowed for larger signs indicating which books we can accept for display. A few years ago we were able to donate older books to the Hemet library. They stopped accepting our older books and now the committee has to bag the older books and cart them to Goodwill, Angel View or Salvation Army. We really need you to donate your old books wherever you choose. Thank you. We display the hardbound fiction from 2013-2021. The paperback books are now displayed from 2017-2021. The non-fiction and biography are not displayed by dates. We do not display any reference books. You will find the copyright date in the front of the book and that will help you determine what we can accept. We finally have some magazines for you to sit, relax and enjoy reading. Please remember magazines must be dated within the last three months of this year. When you finish reading yours at home, bring them up to our library! Our collection of LARGE PRINT books has grown. We have many, including paperbacks. They are all kept together in the large cabinet under the paperback books. They are clearly marked with a sign on the outside of the cabinet door. Take time to peruse the many soft bound books displayed on library tables. The authors have donated their works for your enjoyment. We have a new one by Charles Forsyth, dedicated to his wonderful wife. Enjoy reading it. Lynne Spreen has written a new book, We Did This Once Before, and, in my opinion, it is her best work yet! Lynne writes books that resonate with us "older women." It is about divorce, a BIG move, caretaking, some romance along with a scary character. I purchased my copy from Amazon and it is lent out with several waiting for it. Don't wait, order your own copy! Reading brings people into your life. Open that book! Until next month… Cookie Library Committee The Library Committee Proudly Presents
