22 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | NOVEMBER 2021 | October sped by with lots of activities. Unfortunately, our planned speaker, Eben Longfellow had to postpone coming to share his secrets with us until after January 2022. But being the creative group that we are we quickly pivoted to another name tag designing workshop. A great time was had by all, and some extras were even created for those unable to attend! On Oct. 20 we headed up the hill to Apple Country in Oak Glen. The true feel of fall was definitely in the air, (and on the changing leaves) as we enjoyed the many activities of traipsing through orchards, sampling fresh ciders and poking around in all the quaint shops. Even brought home a few pies! Our next regular meeting on Mon., Nov. 8 will be in the Craft Room where we will finalize details for a trip to Mundial in Riverside, scheduled for mid-November. The Living Desert in Palm Desert has been on our agenda for awhile, but had to be postponed until now. Details/dates for this December trip will also be discussed in November's meeting. Until we meet again, happy weeding and fall planting! Late Bloomers meets every second Monday at 1 pm in the Craft Room. (Schedule is posted on the Calendar Page in every Herald issue.) All Four Seasons residents are welcome to attend meetings and trips. For More Information, please contact: Sharon Deuber (760) 500-0077 Sharon@BlackDiamondInvestments. net. "With each sunrise we are given a chance for a new beginning!" Team Sunshine's Newcomers' Team is back in action! If you've moved to our community since April, be on the lookout for a visit from our ladies. Those of you who moved to Four Seasons during the pandemic prior to April of this year, and need further information on life here, please call one of the members of the team – Linda Adkins (951) 223-3658, Karen Brennon (951) 926-3394, Rose Harvey (818) 720-6357 or Candace Hawley (951) 442-2022. Medical Equipment: One of the outreach programs of Team Sunshine has been providing medical equipment for members of our community. Unfortunately, sanitizing requirements now needed because of COVID have made it impossible for us to continue this service. Going forward Team Sunshine can neither accept nor distribute any medical equipment. If you have items you wish to donate, Angel View in the Lowe's parking lot is accepting donations. Celebrations of Life: On Sept. 13 we were honored to assist the family of Dena Cohen with a beautiful celebration of life. The following Saturday we helped the family of David Stipp celebrate the beautiful life of this special man. The family of Bob Beech held a gathering in their home on Oct. 1 following the service at Riverside National Cemetery. Team Sunshine was pleased to be asked to assist. On Oct. 9, we helped the family of Joe Glick, celebrate his long life with an event on the patio (BBQ area). Sadly, we have also been notified of the passing of Louis Ferber, Al Lacy and Ed Messmer. We extend our heartfelt condolences to these families. It is important to us to reach as many of our residents as possible when they are in need of comfort or cheering. Therefore, we ask that you let us know if you have a neighbor or friend in Four Seasons who may be struggling with isolation, a recent injury, or a lingering illness. It is amazing how something as simple as an unexpected card or phone call, can brighten someone's day. Flu Shot Clinic: On Sept. 23, Team Sunshine was pleased to assist Tracie Rodgers, Activities Director, with the very successful Flu Shot Clinic. Rite Aid provided four pharmacists who were happy to offer our residents this year's flu vaccine, the Phizer booster, a pneumonia shot or the Shingles vaccine. At the end of the day they had given more than 300 shots. Prayer Requests: For those wishing prayer, a request box is provided in the Multipurpose Room for your convenience. Prayer cards are provided. If you are interested in joining the prayer group, please call Marietta Ruppaner. How to contact Team Sunshine: Caring Connection cards that detail Team Sunshine's services are available at The Lodge. You may also call Co-Chairs Brenda Beers (951) 306-6670 or Margie Culton (951) 491-4058.
