How is your portfolio doing? Are you satisfied with your investment advisor? Would you like to feel comfortable trading stocks and possibly even options? Come join the Sun Lakes Investor Group. Some of our members invest on their own while others have advisors along with overseeing some of their own investments. Since COVID restrictions have eased, we meet on Thursdays from 4 to 5:30 pm in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. The Investor Group is led by Ajit Desai and Allen Jaszcar. Ajit has been trading for several decades. He follows and teaches the CANSLIM methodology for stock selection and trading that was pioneered by William O'Neill, the founder of Investors Business Daily. We discuss stocks that our members are interested in, growth stocks that offer good returns, when to buy, when to sell, etc. Ajit also incorporates option trading to enhance portfolio returns. We look at and talk about real time numbers and pertinent information over the internet during our meetings. We are tuned into market trends, and although no one has a crystal ball, it's important to have information to make wise or at least informed decisions. We do not invest as a group, nor do we discuss dollar amounts of members' portfolios or trades. That's your business, not ours. If this piques your "interest," come visit. In November, Happy Cookers did not meet due to Thanksgiving. We are, however, planning a fabulous celebration for Christmas on Dec. 16 at 5 pm in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. All Sun Lakers are invited to attend – payment and RSVP must be received by Nov. 30. You can find flyers in the Main Clubhouse with all the information. Member price is $10 and non-member price is $20 so feel free to bring a friend or partner. Anyone who would like to attend is invited to do so. Dinner will be provided by Thomas Catering. This illustrious food service team came highly recommended and we are excited to have them provide the food for our holiday gathering. Jamestown will provide entertainment. Many Sun Lakers are familiar with this dynamic singing duo. They will sing some classics we know and love along with some special holiday music. When we meet in January, we will be celebrating healthier food choices. This could mean creating food which contains less salt/sodium or sugar, decreasing carbohydrates, increasing vegetable intake, eating more natural foods in general, or just cutting calories. We will be meeting on Fri., Jan. 27 at 11 am so mark your calendars. And if you are so inclined, bring your favorite healthy dish and recipe to share. As mentioned previously, anyone who would like to attend a Happy Cookers meeting may attend one of our meetings for free to see if our club is a good fit. We are certain that once you attend, you will want to join as we share food, fun, recipes, and good times. Happy Cookers meet on the fourth Friday of each month and it's always a great time.
