Maybe that's a good thing; , good-bye and good riddance to 2021. After eight weeks of bowling we have three teams fighting for first place. These teams are: Red Solo Cups with 22 wins (Laura Irwin, Clarissa Toro, Cork Irwin and Andy Toro). Utterly Striking with 20 wins(Jazz Burkett, Tom Leamy, Frank Burkett and Rick Vieville). Also with 20 wins, Optimist (Caroline Gagnon, Leo Gagnon, Sharon Mills and Bonnie Greene). Season High Scores are: for the men, Andy Toro with a Scratch Series of 710, Rick Vieville with a Scratch Game of 266, Jon Skaggs with a Handicap Series of 806 and John Lyons with a Handicap Game of 291. For the women: Laura Irwin with a Scratch Series of 569, Gail Stormes with a Scratch Game of 203, Barbara Semic with a Handicap Series of 720 and Beverly Bly with a Handicap Game of 282. What did the bowling pins do after hearing a joke? They fell over laughing. Organized Bocce Ball is over for the year. The Fall Tournament finished just before Thanksgiving. Bocce will resume after the holidays beginning with the Winter Tournament. As is usual, we move the starting times for this Tournament. Instead of the usual 3, 4, 5, and 6 pm starts that we use for the Spring and Fall Tournaments, we move the times up to 1, 2 and 3 pm to, hopefully, catch a little warmer weather. Keep an eye on your computer; starting dates and the duration of the Winter Tournament will appear in an e-mail after the first of the year. Playing days will be Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Thursday if we need it, but not likely. We've never had enough teams playing in the winter to need Thursday. In the meantime, the courts are there to use as members wish. The balls remain in the cabinet and the tape measures are on the top shelf in the cabinet. Hopefully maintenance will keep the courts blown off through the holidays. If you have trouble opening the cabinet, give Dutch a call at (951) 845-0392. She or Jim will talk you through it. By the way, club dues, $12 for 2022, plus $3 for each tournament played, will again be collected when you sign up to play. The $3 is due each time you play a tournament.
