They were very disappointed she wasn't real. I said, "She's holding a chainsaw." They didn't seem to care. Apparently Covid did bad things to people's feet that only a chainsaw could fix. I get it. Last month I asked for an inspirational quote. Jeanne Vaughan came through with this one, which is something her grandmother used to say: "He who has not Christmas in his heart, will never find it under a tree," by Roy L. Smith. My granny used to say, "It won't be noticed on a flying horse," which meant stop whining about the spot on your dress - in the din of the holidays no one will notice. Both our grandmothers captured the essence of the season in their own ways.
