We have Chef Noi who has introduced new items and a wonderful new menu. Thank you so much Chef Noi! Our new Restaurant & Lounge Manager, Thomas, has added so much personality and warmth to our Restaurant & Lounge. He never stops and is so full of energy. Thank you Thomas for returning to your "family" here at Sun Lakes. Our Restaurant is looking more inviting and our Happy Hour and Music on the Veranda is well attended. NAMING CONTESTS: We have two naming contests — one to name the Restaurant and another to name the Lounge. The contest will run from Jan. 1 to Jan. 24. There will be a second vote on the three best names from each category Restaurant & the Lounge from Jan. 31 ending Feb. 14. There will be a box located in the Main Clubhouse at the front desk for your suggestions starting Jan. 2. Winners will be announced and two $25 gift certificates will be awarded. So, put on your thinking caps and come up with great ideas. I sincerely wish everyone a safe and Joyous Holiday Season! ~ Dianne Patrick, Chair Restaurant & Lounge Advisory Master Architectural Holiday season is in full swing and the focus is on fun, reflection, family, and friends. The Master Architectural Committee continues to meet twice monthly to review and act upon your applications for changes to your property. I know it is winter but let's consider what you need to know about painting your house. Here's a Q & A about painting. Q: How often do I have to paint? A: All wood surfaces are to be painted every four years and all stucco surfaces are to be painted every 16 years. Q: Do I need permission to paint? A: Yes. You must have approval from the Master Architectural Committee prior to painting even if you are using the same color of paint as is already on the home. Q: My house still looks in good condition. Can I get an extension? A: Yes. If the paint on your house is not peeling, flaking, cracking, or discolored, the property is eligible for an extension to the painting deadlines. Make your request for an extension with the Planning Compliance Department in the Administration office. Contact the Planning and Compliance Department in the Administration Offices for answers to your questions. ~ David Marshall Kealy, Chairman NAME THE RESTAURANT & LOUNGE CONTEST!
