50 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | DECEMBER 2021 | Women's Golf First, let's fill in what's been happening. Lifestyles, like most publications, requires submission three weeks in advance. The fall calendar has brought a plethora of activities and we are loving every minute of it! The first Thursday in October we played our Pink Ball game to bring awareness about Breast Cancer month. Several of our members have fought the fight and are healthy now for which we are so very grateful. Oct. 14 was our quarterly Low Gross/Low Net tournament. Each flight winner receives scrip which can be used in the Pro Shop or the restaurant. The Low Gross and Low Net winner each receive a bag tag. They proudly display these on their golf bag. On the 28th we celebrated our largest tournament of the year - the Member/Guest Invitational tournament with over 100 women golfing. A big thank you goes to Michele Walter for being our chairperson and for putting her distinguish touched on everything this day. It's the first time we could have guests play since COVID made it impossible to share golf carts. Each team consisted of two Sun Lakes Women's Club members and two guests from surrounding golf courses and some members had friends or relatives fly in from other states to join in on the fun. The theme was Divots For Divas and as you can see from the picture black, pink, and BLING were the colors of the day. We also had a very special guest - Marilyn Monroe who posed for pictures. The luncheon main course was either salmon or pork loin. Gourmet Your Way was the caterer. At our most recent General Meeting, Kari Steinwart received her PAR club bag tag from Marilyn Knowles. Kari has parred all 18-holes on the championship course. The rules state that a club member has five years to complete this task - Kari did so in less than a year. Congratulations Kari! We are currently in our membership drive. The fee is $60 a year for full membership or $25 a year for associate membership. Forms are at the back of the Pro Shop. May 2022 bring you much happiness on the golf course, lower handicaps, and good health to enjoy your family, friends, and golf! Lady Executive Golf Welcome to Lady Executive golfers (LEGS)! We are a 9 hole club on the Executive Course. We play weekly on Tuesday mornings with mixed play, fun scrambles, and a monthly tournament. In addition, we participate with other clubs for 18 hole tournaments and "away" games a few times during the year. From October through June, we meet at 8:30 am with tee times at 9 am. From July to October, we meet at 7:30 am with tee times at 8 am. The third Tuesday of each month is our monthly meeting and lunch at the South Clubhouse. Guests are welcome!
