For more information, please call Alexis Snell at 951-677-2831. NEW YEAR'S EVE Trim-A-Tree Toys for Tots The Colony Elf just reminded me that it's almost time to collect the last of the Toys for Tots bins in the Clubhouse lobby. She knows I am working with the Southwest Riverside County Marine Corps League and the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve again this year to provide and distribute toys to needy children. In the past, this effort has not only provided gifts during the holidays, but also sends a message of hope which can motivate children to grow into responsible, productive, patriotic citizens and community leaders. As has been the protocol, the bin will be available in the lobby until Friday, Dec. 10, for your unwrapped gifts for children of all ages. I have already taken a few carloads of toys to Pendleton, and they were so delighted to have what you have shared. The YMCA at Pendleton would like to have the toys early in December so that they can distribute them in plenty of time before Christmas. So, if you haven't deposited a toy, please be sure to remember your unwrapped gift. It is such an organized event at the Y, and I am so proud that my friends here at The Colony have a significant role in this. The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is an IRS-recognized 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit public charity. If any club or organization would also like to participate in this worthwhile endeavor for their early December meeting, please contact me at 698-8640, and I will book the Elf to appear at your Holiday function to personally accept your gifts for Toys for Tots. Let's make this holiday special for as many kids as we can! By Rita Nastri, 698-8640
