20 | OHCC LIVING | DECEMBER 2021 | Happy Holidays to OHCC! We made it through another challenging year and 2022 is on its way. The holiday trees are up and lit up for all to enjoy. The Garden Club members under the direction of Bob Wong have once again done their good work with the holiday tree decorating. We thank you! The holiday tree is whimsical in nature and will bring out the child in all of us. We have many parties planned, the Chorale Concert on Sun., Dec. 12, and the Holiday Golf Cart Parade throughout the Village on Tues., Dec. 14. The Recreation Department is hosting a red- carpet gala on Fri., Dec. 31. We invite members to join us for this celebrated evening and guests are always welcome. The Clubhouse will close on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve at 5 pm. Set-ups will be limited because of staffing on the holidays. January 1st will be business as usual. The Clubhouse Front Desk acts as a "Concierge Mailbox." We accept all matters of concern, checks, forms, and provide as much information as we have knowledge of. Some of the services offered include; faxing, copies, scanning, a concierge phone, and a lost and found. Residents can order nametags, drop checks off for clubs, pick something up from our resident pick-up, and post classified ads. The racks on the information hallway provide a wealth of information. The Front Desk can even supply a member with a band aid. So, please do not be afraid to ask! Do Dues Day will start the New Year 2022 off on Sat., Jan. 8, 10 am to 2 pm. Plan to bring a checkbook, cash for lunch, and pick up a list of clubs. Each club determines their dues each year, and some clubs will be carrying over from 2021, if you happened to sign up earlier. Annual Golf Bag Tag distribution has been put on hold. It is required that every resident that visits the golf course for play have a bag tag attached to their golf bag. Guests are to be accompanied by a resident that displays the tag. There is no cost for the tag, just proof of residency. The date for distribution will be announced, as we get closer to the opening date of the newly renovated course. Stay tuned! The upcoming presentation "Secrets for Ageless Living," with resident Michele Hebert is scheduled for Sat., Jan. 15 at 2 pm in Abravanel Hall. Michele has an extensive background as a Raja Yoga Master Teacher, Meditation Guide, an award-winning author, and affiliated with Rancho La Puerta and the Golden Door for over 30 years. She will offer a FREE seminar and she plans to provide future classes that will lift your spirits, for a fee. Happy Hannukah, Merry Christmas, and a Bright, Healthy New Year to All. We thank each of you for remembering us with so many goodies, kind words, and gifts over this past year. Your gestures of kindness have been appreciated by all of us. It certainly was a year to remember and not one easy to forget. But there is much ahead of us, and we look forward to bringing back the FUN times, the laughs, the creating of memories together, and providing services to all.
