Founders Duplicate Bridge
Friday Duplicate Bridge
Would you like to enjoy a fun evening playing duplicate bridge? If
you are an intermediate player, we encourage you to join us. Although
we follow ACBL rules of Duplicate, we are not a sanctioned club and
do not award master points. We play in a relaxed atmosphere and
emphasize friendliness while competing seriously. Single players are
welcome. You can arrange for a partner by calling Phyllis Skall at
(858) 405-2684 or email pskall13@yahoo.com well in advance. You
need to be a resident of the community.
We play every Tuesday evening at 6 pm in the Mykonos Room at
the Clubhouse. The membership fee is waived for your first game.
Table fees are $2. The proceeds are distributed to the top winning
pairs.
Happy Holidays to all members and their families.
Congratulations to the top winners for October

Top score for the month 68.25% Heidi Kuhn / Irma Maston
We offer a Duplicate Bridge game that combines the superior
scoring of Duplicate Bridge, but also has the friendlier and non-
aggressive attitude of home style Rubber Bridge. With Duplicate
Bridge, your true opponents are the pairs that hold the same cards
as you would, rather than your opponents at the table. We are not an
ACBL game and for that, we not only offer an extremely reasonable
game price of just $2, but also give cash awards to the winners.
If you are interested, please call John Gates at (760) 295-5885, the
president of this bridge club, to see if this type of game might meet
your expectations. We are relatively small and have anywhere from
five to eight tables. The games are at 1 pm on the second, fourth, and
fifth Fridays of the month in the Hall. If you are planning on playing
you will be responsible for finding a partner, and to let me know no
later than early Thursday afternoon prior to the Friday game date.
It is also assumed that you know the basics of Standard American
Bridge, this is not a bridge training course but a tournament. You
do not have to join this club to play your first game; however, if you
decide to join, the annual dues are $6.
