Happy New Year OHCC!
The 2022 Travel Club Board of Directors is very
excited about the new year! Hopefully, things
will continue to improve, especially regarding the
COVID pandemic, and we will continue to make
progress in getting back to "normal" in 2022.
The new Board of Directors was installed at the Travel Club Annual
Party on Mon., Nov. 8, 2021. The 2022 Officers are:

Treasurer Lynn Opelka
Directors Judy Buoniconti & Amy Blount
Please mark your calendars for General Meetings that have been
scheduled for the first half of the year in Abravanel Hall. Our Social
Hour begins at 6:30 pm with light refreshments and is followed by a
general meeting and program presentation at 7 pm.
Our next meeting is Mon., Jan. 10. Dee Wardell and Joe Ashby
will give a presentation on their trip to Iceland. For the meeting
on Mon., March 14, our program is still to be determined. At our
meeting on Mon., May 9, our guest speaker will be Melissa Sciacca,
Executive Director, Sheldrick Wildlife Trust USA. For nearly half a
century, Sheldrick Wildlife Trust has been a force for
conservation, operating six key programs to save
Kenya's wildlife and secure its rapidly disappearing
ecosystems.
As for our trips, we started off the new year with a
trip to the Rose Parade with Daytripper Tours.
On Feb. 24, we are traveling to Fallbrook for a tour of REINS
(Riding Emphasizing Individual Needs and Strengths), a non-profit
Program where children and adults with disabilities learn how to ride
horses and have fun doing it. We will also have lunch in downtown
Fallbrook followed by a visit to the Fallbrook Art Center for their 13th
annual World of Watercolor exhibit. This prestigious show features
120 original works of art by artists from the U.S., China, Malaysia,
Singapore, and Turkey.
We are also putting the finishing touches on more trips for
2022. Flyers on all of our trips are available in the Trip Rack in the
Clubhouse.
We hope to see you on one or more trips in 2022 and invite you to
join us at one of our General Meetings!
