FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JANUARY 2022 45 Country Line Dancing Happy New Year everyone! This is the time to begin new routines and activities. COVID has kept many of us at home and often alone for the past year and a half. It is time we go back to what we had before we even heard of COVID. Not to say we can be reckless, but we now know we can enjoy activities and events by being informed and careful. Some people prefer to wear a mask, others do not. In our dance class, you decide what makes you comfortable. Lucky for us, we have a large dance floor and are usually able to space ourselves far enough apart to be comfortable. If you have considered trying line dancing, come join us or come watch and see what it is all about and how the class is handled. I will be starting a very beginner class next month. Keep reading the Activity Blast for more information. Or just give me a call. Hope to see you on the dance floor. ~ Martha Franck, marthafranck@icloud.com, (714) 345-8588 Step It Up Line Dancing We finally made it to 2022 and we're going to make it a great year! I'm starting back up Jan. 3 after taking two months off to have a knee replacement and I can't wait to get back to dancing! Our holiday party with a catered dinner was postponed and we will now be having it on Jan. 22. It's open to all but for the ones that haven't been before, the catered dinner is $18 and only $5 for those who have been coming to class. On Mondays at 12:30 pm is my basic beginner class and this is the class you don't want to miss if you want to learn to line dance. We start out with very simple dances and progress as the weeks go by. This is a three-month class and then we start over in April. At 1:30 pm is our beginner/intermediate class and this works for the ones who have been taking the class before, or anyone that catches on quickly as we don't spend as much time going over the steps. A new basic beginner class is on Wednesday nights at 6:30. This is great for those who still work or someone who just can't make it during the day. We follow the 12:30 basic beginner class curriculum and restart class all over again in April. Please let me know if you're interested in coming to our holiday dinner. If you're not quite ready for that, come on out and see how much fun we have in class in addition to learning new dances. You'll meet many new friends and get some exercise as well. Step It Up Line Dance also sponsor's the yearly Super Bowl Sunday Party with some fun games before the big game and a potluck! This is our third year so plan on joining us and bring your neighbors and friends and be ready for a really fun time! ~ Janine Rohrbacker, (949) 326-3133 Let's Dance! Happy New Year! Our dance group is happy to announce we will begin 2022 with Slow Dancing. This will be a generalized class of all types of slow dancing steps that will help the students dance on cruises, at weddings, or just an evening out with your sweetheart. The idea is to learn to lead and follow easily to a variety of music. We are also excited to continue with our monthly "Dance Party Practices" in a nightclub atmosphere, where our instructors join us in a fun, social gathering of dance. This gives you an opportunity that is different than the weekly classes and helps you learn to maneuver around the dance floor. We also celebrate monthly birthdays, and this is offered at no charge. Plan to join us in the Ballroom Monday, Jan. 10. We host an open practice from 6 to 6:30 pm for members which serves as a review of what we have been learning. Beginners class is 6:30 to 7:30 pm and advanced is 7:30 to 8:30. The cost is $10 per person and you are welcome to attend both classes.
