HOA NEWS | THE COLONY NEWS | JANUARY 2022 | 3 By the time you read this, the turkey has been gobbled, the holiday season is behind us, the New Year is here and the white sales have started. As 2022 arrives, The Colony faces many challenges. The Finance Committee will be working on the 2022-2023 budget, and the Golf Course Committee continues its work as we await the court's decision that will determine the next step for our community. We will be celebrating the Martin Luther King holiday this month while recognizing that we are a divided country. As a nation, we need healing in our politics, direction in the mid-term elections and divine intervention in our thinking. We are The Colony and will rise to the occasion, thankful for our freedoms, mindful of our traditions and respectful of our neighbors. I am reminded of the special individuals and groups that "rose to the occasion" in December. The Colony Chorus gave us music and voices, the Social Committee brought us delicious and delightful dinners and dancing, the Clubhouse looked spectacular both inside and out, the grandkids decorated the tree, and all of us returned to the days of our youth as excitement was in the air. This year, let us look forward to Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Passover and Easter, Tax Day (nah…), Mother's Day, Father's Day, Independence Day, Women's Equality Day, Labor Day, Indigenous Peoples' Day, Veterans Day – and then the seasonal holidays once again. As Audrey Hepburn once said, "The best thing to hold onto in life is each other." May 2022 be all that you desire: good health, friendships, travel, family, and a welcoming spirit that enhances our community. From the Board of Directors By Walt Bowman, President Monday, Jan. 24, 9 to 11 am, 1 to 3 pm, and 5 to 7 pm. This special Town Hall Meeting with Association Attorney Rian Jones is to present the proposed Golf Course Ballot. You will have an opportunity to ask final questions before you vote on the options presented. This meeting will be held at three separate sessions to give every homeowner the opportunity to attend. Due to the impending trial, this meeting will not be streamed live on our website but may be available at a future date. If you have not already registered online through the eBlast correspondence, please call the Association Office at 951-677-4341. GOLF COURSE TOWN HALL MEETING
