CLUB NEWS | THE COLONY NEWS | JANUARY 2022 | 33 New Year – time to try something different! New clogging classes will start on Tuesday, Jan. 4, from 4:30 to 5:15 pm in the Auditorium. The Beginner's class is from 4:30 to 5:15 pm, and the Intermediates meet from 5:15 to 6 pm. The first class is free so you can try before you buy. After that, the cost is $5.00 per class with a great instructor. All you need is a pair of soft leather-bottomed shoes. Clogging is a FUN way to exercise your body and brain. Studies show that dancing is a major tool in the fight against Alzheimer's and dementia. If you're interested, please give me a call. Clogging Classes By Mary Seifert, 951-304-3503 Do you like to sing and can carry a tune? If so, The Colony Chorus invites you to join us for our spring rehearsals which will begin at 9:15 am on Thursday, Jan. 20, in the Auditorium. Our rehearsals will continue weekly and end with the Spring Concert, which will be held in the Auditorium on Saturday, April 23 and Sunday, April 24. If you have attended either or both of our concerts (Christmas or Spring), you know how well the chorus sings. We are now under the direction of our fantastic Director, Lorilee Bajema, and our exceptional arranger/composer Assistant Director, Ron Gentile. For more information, call Bonnie Graham, President (619-889-6770). At every concert, we encourage our Colony friends and residents to join the Patrons Club as a way to support our Chorus. A Patron ticket gives you a reserved seat in the first three rows, with no waiting in line to get in. You also will be invited to attend a special event just for Patrons, which will be held on Sunday, Feb. 13. A single ticket to one concert is $30, or you may buy tickets to both our Spring and Christmas concerts for $50. Please call Bonnie Graham (number above) or Carolyn Smith (909-286-9163) for more information or to purchase a Patron ticket. Chorus By Kathleen Brown Come join us on Wednesday, Jan. 19, as we explore the fine wines of Hawk Watch Winery of Warner Springs. We will be tasting two white wines and four red wines. We will also enjoy a lovely dinner of Beef Stroganoff. Ticket price is $30 for members and $35 for a member's guests. Tickets will be sold in the Atrium from 10 am to 12 noon on Mondays, Jan. 3 and Jan. 10, or until tickets sell out. If you are not yet a Wine Club member or would like more information, please give me a call. Wine Club By Sharon Evans, 445-3861
