Men's Golf
The last two months of the year are
the CMGC's busiest part of the year as
far as special events are concerned, with
the Pancake Breakfast, President's Cup
tournament and our Awards Dinner
all taking place during November and
December!
Of course, our Pancake Breakfast in
November was a major event for us
and, as it turned out, a very successful
one with over 300 (310 to be exact)
breakfasts being served! This was our
best attended in recent years but that
well-drilled machine in the kitchen
coped with it very well, and the food was
served promptly. Well done to our Social
Director, Randy Meyer, and all the club
members who worked hard to ensure
that success. Of course, the main point
of holding the breakfast is to raise money
for our high school scholarships. So,
thanks to everyone who bought tickets
and supported this important cause.
With regards to the President's Cup,
congratulations to the winner, Malcolm
Grant (above left), and to the winner
of the "Consolation Bracket," Mel Rich
(above right). It was an exciting match
play format, played over three days.
Of course, all winners of awards in
2021 were presented with their trophies
at our annual Awards Dinner, which
was well-attended and a very enjoyable
evening. The Awards Dinner is a great
way to finish the year, not only to present
trophies but also to thank all those club
members who went that extra mile in
supporting CMGC activities.
On another very important note, it
was time to celebrate another one of
our nonagenarian golfers' birthdays.
So "Happy
Birthday" to Ed
King (right),
who turned 90
years young in
October and
is still playing
golf a couple of
times a week!
