He further expressed how remarkable The Colony is and said he is thankful to serve as President, to be an American, to live in this Country and to live in The Colony. Communications Committee The Communications Committee requested authorization to purchase an additional Canon XA25 field camera for Board meetings, candidate interviews, highlight reels and various community events. The Board unanimously approved the $2,500 purchase. They are also in need of larger studio monitors which are used by the Committee to produce the Board Meetings that are streamed live and for editing. The Association's Audio/Visual Consultant, Jake Henricksen, recommends replacing the three 24" monitors with 55" monitors. The Committee is also requesting an adjustable rolling workstation table. The Board unanimously approved the purchase at a cost not to exceed $4,000. G-53 Access Ramp and Concrete Installation to Replace DG Management presented proposals to replace the originally proposed DG with concrete at the G-53 Renovation site located on the corner of Avenida Florita and Colony Drive (the boulder yard). It was determined that the concrete would provide low maintenance and a longer life. The Board unanimously approved the concrete walkway installation at a cost of $15,332. The work will be performed by Environmental Concepts Landscape Maintenance. G-53 Solid Patio Pricing – Change to Alumawood Management presented a proposal to replace the original wood patio structure with Alumawood at the G-53 Renovation site. It was determined that the Alumawood will last for several decades. The Board unanimously approved installing an Alumawood solid patio cover at the cost of $24,853. The work will be performed by Sun-Tech Builders. This is a Capital Improvement. Special Salute to Colony Members Who Served in the Military On behalf of the community, the Board of Directors gave a special salute to all Colony residents who served in the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard. "We are thankful and appreciate your service and sacrifice. We honor those currently serving as well."
