| LIFE IN SOLERA | JANUARY 2022 | 29 Happy New Year Members of SOLERA! To start the new year out right and on a High Note, come check out our karaoke night on Jan. 21. Singing starts at 6 pm so as you arrive to get your seat, you can get your name on DJ Blasts list. The first to sign up is the first to sing. This also allows DJ to find your song and music ahead of time. Depending on the number of singers that night, you may be able to sing a second song too… so have a second tune in mind. FEBRUARY is the month of love and even though karaoke will be the Friday after Valentine's Day, we still want to sing LOVE SONGS! Sweet, mushy, lovey- dovey love songs. How you feel about that certain someone? Belt it out! Hope to see you there on Jan. 21 and HEY, if you haven't been, come to the Clubhouse at 6 pm. "Music heals all forms of misery." ~ Friedrich Nietzsche. ~ Cindy Bice HIGH NOTES FROM KARAOKE On Dec. 11 the Solera Sippers members enjoyed a Holiday Party that celebrated this festive time of the year. The event featured great food from Hickory Ranch Steakhouse and music for listening and dancing provided by D.J. Chuck Hornsby. Additionally, lucky members from each table won a bottle of wine to cap off the evening. Kicking off our 2022 events is "Wine Bingo" on Jan. 15. This popular event includes 12 games with prizes of wine to the winners of 11 games and a special prize for the winner of the final game. Food from Primo Tacos is included. Our February event will be an Italian-themed evening and our annual Membership Party is planned for March. Watch for more information on future events in the Life in Solera publication and on the Solera website. The Solera website also includes an application for membership and current membership guidelines. In addition to members that have been in the club for several years, we now have new members enjoying the variety of wine events that our club has to offer. However, these events would not be possible without the dedicated members of the Solera Sippers Steering Committee. The current 19-member Committee plans and chairs the monthly events for our fiscal year. We meet on the first Tuesday of each month to review upcoming events and recap earlier events in a continuous process to improve our events and entertain new ideas for future events. Finally, as a friendly reminder, the Solera Sippers require members to supply proof of COVID-19 vaccination in order to take part in events. Additionally, we are currently limiting the number of members at a table for events held in the Oakmont Clubhouse. Therefore, it is always prudent to sign up early when flyers are sent out for an event.
