| LIFE IN SOLERA | JANUARY 2022 | 35 After a couple of long and sometimes lonely years, we pray that 2022 will be a healthy, happy year for everyone, surrounded by those you love. It was definitely a very Merry Christmas for the Tennis Titan ladies again this year. Beverly Crowe hosted the Fourth Annual Christmas luncheon for us at her beautifully decorated home. She trimmed the tree, decked the halls, and spread Christmas cheer to all of us. We were pleasantly surprised that our dear friend Betty O'Connor came all the way from Oceanside to join us. We had not seen her for two years. Betty is 95 now and looking good. Her sweet granddaughter, Anne Clark, drove her all the way. Betty was our tennis guru here at Solera. There are several ladies among us who started playing with Betty as their first teacher. When I last played doubles with Betty here in Solera, she was 90 years young. You didn't dare hit a ball anywhere near her, or the point was over very quickly. After feasting on lots of food and getting caught up on everyone's lives and families, we also had a white elephant gift exchange. It was lots of fun and laughs as we opened packages and exchanged presents. ~ Shirley Ferguson TENNIS TITANS Back Row: Gale Howard, Rose Williams, Joanne Larson, Shirley Ferguson, Diane Gell, Cindy Bice, Barbara Boutwell, and Beverly Crowe Front Row: Betty O'Connor, Irma Wozniak, and Carol Mee
