24 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JANUARY 2022 | Fiber Artists Please join us on Mondays from 12:30 to 3 pm (please note the time is 11:30 am to 1:30 pm on the third Monday starting in January) in the North Clubhouse. We are knitters, crocheters, weavers, and cross stitchers. Beginners are welcome. On the second Monday of each month we do free yarn and supply exchange. On the last Monday of each month we have a potluck lunch. Any questions? Call Diane Black at (801) 367-5999 or Carol Willis at (404) 245-6939. Sun Lakes Mudslingers We meet every Tuesday from 3 to 6 pm and Fridays from 9 am to 12 pm in the Arts & Crafts Room. No prior experience is needed. Month-to-month sign up is allowed, so no lengthy commitment. We do have space limitations though. Right now there is room for a few more budding artists. If you ever wanted to play in the mud or learn to use the wheel, now is your chance. The cost is $70 per month and includes all supplies and materials needed. Just bring yourself and have fun. Try out a new hobby with very little expense and no new "stuff " to store. For more info, contact Camille Meldrum at camille.meldrum@ gmail.com. Sew What? Club A brand new name and a brand new year! This year, our group will enjoy a slightly new structure as we have begun adding a monthly Make 'N Take project day. Anyone in our group who has an idea of a fun craft to do with others is invited to share their knowledge of the project. Those who wish to participate can bring their own supplies and join in as we all construct our own creations. Fun! Our monthly birthday luncheons are ongoing. We have moved this event to Thursdays, to utilize and support our own restaurant. Reservations must be made for this gathering. It's time to think about which of us will organize and plan our holiday dinner party for 2022. It is best to have two or three working together to iron out all the details and share in all the undertakings that are required. The number one task of these volunteers is to secure the location where our party will take place the end of this year. It is so much fun to be involved in the planning of this event. Our Paper Crafting group meets on Mondays from 1 to 3 pm in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room, with the exception of the second Monday of each month. Please feel welcome to stop in and say hello. Due to the holidays, the next meeting of the Paper Crafters will be Jan. 17. We will possibly be creating a decoupaged birdhouse for our monthly project! Please contact either Elaine Perkins at (951) 334-3119 or Sallie Flesher at (951) 902-9768 if you have any questions. There is no fee to join. Paper Crafting (Formerly Scrapbooking) Dear Sew What? Club members, thanks for all the support you have given our group in the past crazy year. I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I look forward to working with all of you in 2022. If you are new to Sun Lakes and want to see all we do just stop by or give me, Gail, a call at (951) 797-3589.
