Well, I guess it's time to welcome 2022! May this year be much better than the past two. Cheers to that! Our November gathering took place over Thanksgiving weekend and was our biggest group yet. We had a last minute substitution in entertainment for which we were lucky to get Lisa Rose, a professional singer. In "Legends" she was, in fact, their Karen Carpenter and our attendees were mesmerized. Whether it was one of her Karen Carpenter selections or Straighten up and Fly Right, When I Fall In Love or her ending song to take us into the Christmas season, Merry Christmas Darling, people were truly moved. I even saw two shedding emotional tears and people raved to me about her afterwards. Thank you so much, Lisa! We were lucky to have you and I know this group would enthusiastically welcome you back any time. Because we are changing our meeting dates from the fourth Sunday to the first Saturday of each month in 2022, there would only be a week between Dec. 26 and Jan. 1 so we won't be getting together in January. Our next gathering will be Feb. 5 and our entertainment will be our own Sun Lakes Bob Palmer. As the saying goes, he a little bit country so get ready for a good ride. Our dinner will be $13 per person and the reservation deadline will be Jan. 28. Please get your checks in to the box on Donna's porch at 5393 Riviera by that time. If you haven't paid your dues yet, they are now due in January as well and those are $10 per person. We have had so many inquiries about our club from people not quite 80 yet, but close, we need to announce our rule that if you are within six months of turning 80 you are also welcome to join. I love that so many people are so eager to join before they are even 80 and I don't want them to have to wait. So, if you're just a few months away, come on in, we'd LOVE to have you! Then, both you and your spouse are eligible to be members of the wonderful 80s Plus Club. It is also common for members to bring guests whether of family members, out of town guests, caregivers, or even other Sun Lakers who may want to give us a try before joining. Anyone eligible is welcome to join us once to give us a try before joining. We gather each month for a social dinner and first rate entertainment. We are always in the South Clubhouse at 3pm Our get togethers are the first Saturday of each month at 3pm in the South Clubhouse. Our dues are just $10 per person per year and due by January for the calendar year. Our gatherings have taken on a new life and energy and I am eager to see you at our next one.
