Happy New Year from Happy Cookers! Wishing everyone a safe
and prosperous 2022!
In December, we had our annual holiday party in the Main
Clubhouse Ballroom and it was a blast! We had great food catered
by Thomas Catering. Also, musical duo, James Town, sang holiday
and retro hits through the night. We collected many toys and other
gifts to deliver to the Beaumont Fire Department for underprivileged
youth. Happy Cookers are also generous givers!
We are starting off the New Year with healthy meal and snack
options. Who couldn't stand to eat healthier food? Happy Cookers
will show attendees that just because it's good for you does not mean
it has to taste unpleasant! We will hold our meetings on the fourth
Friday of each month, which, in January is the 28th. We meet in the
South Clubhouse at 11 am. So, whether you're trying to cut back
on carbohydrates or calorie consumption, want to reduce fat or salt
intake, or just want to eat a little bit healthier, please feel free to join
us and bring your favorite healthy food item and/or recipe.
On a serious note, it is with great sadness that we report the loss
of one of our past members, Dorothy Rowe. Dorothy was active with
Happy Cookers for many years and had many friends in and around
Sun Lakes. She also chartered many of the outings for the Pass area.
Our friend was also active in many other clubs within our community
and loved to travel and play golf. Our sincere condolences to her
family.
