| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JANUARY 2022 | 53 POP Tennis Happy 2022! Do your New Year's resolutions include trying to shed a few pounds? Gain some muscle? Work on hand-eye coordination and overall reaction times? Or do they include enjoying some new friendships and having many hearty laughs? POP Tennis can help with all of those plans! Please consider joining us and seeing if POP is for you. We are currently getting our membership up. Join us for only $10 per year for an unlimited good time. POP players enjoy this sport on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 8 am. We have welcomed many new players who are finding out they can improve significantly in a short amount of time. December brought us an outstanding Holiday Party in the South Clubhouse with fun-filled games, a raucous White Elephant Gift Exchange, and terrific dishes cooked up by our multi-talented POP players. This coming year we are looking forward to skills clinics put on by Pat and Michelle Carter as well as several tournaments and, of course, a few parties thrown in. Please be sure and visit our table to learn more about POP tennis at Activities Day on Jan. 15. Current POP players, be sure and get your $10 annual dues paid up. Future POP players, come on down and see if you like it. We are super friendly and we always have paddles and balls on hand for any interested Sun Lakers. Hope to see you there! Normally we play Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 4 to 6 pm, and Sat., 10 am to 12 noon in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom (normally). Because the Ballroom is such a popular venue for so many varied events, our time slot sometimes gets canceled. Therefore, if you are not a regular attendee, please refer to the Sun Lakes website at sunlakescc.com and click on "Recreation" then click on "Classes," and finally click on "Table Tennis Group" for the current month's up-to-date schedule. You can also check the Main Clubhouse events board across from the reception desk or call (951) 845-2191 for that day's calendar. We have all skill levels currently participating and welcome all newcomers. We have several newer quality tables, and all the equipment is provided free by the Sun Lakes Recreation Department. A fun way to exercise! Please come give us a try. There are no fees. Laced tennis shoes required - no exceptions! For info, contact Roland at (951) 769-3978. Table Tennis/Ping Pong
