24 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | FEBRUARY 2022 | Fiber Artists Please join us on Mondays from 12:30 to 3 pm (please note the time is 11:30 am to 1:30 pm on the third Monday starting in January) in the North Clubhouse. We are knitters, crocheters, weavers, and cross stitchers. Beginners are welcome. On the second Monday of each month we do free yarn and supply exchange. On the last Monday of each month we have a potluck lunch. Any questions? Call Diane Black at (801) 367-5999 or Carol Willis at (404) 245-6939. Sun Lakes Mudslingers We meet every Tuesday from 3 to 6 pm and Fridays from 9 am to 12 pm in the Arts & Crafts Room. No prior experience is needed. Month- to-month sign up is allowed, so no lengthy commitment. We do have space limitations though. Right now there is room for a few more budding artists. If you ever wanted to play in the mud or learn to use the wheel, now is your chance. The cost is $70 per month and includes all supplies and materials needed. Just bring yourself and have fun. Try out a new hobby with very little expense and no new "stuff " to store. For more info, contact Camille Meldrum at camille.meldrum@gmail. com. Sew What? Club We have welcomed several new members to our group in the past months, and with that some new craft ideas. We created some beautiful plant stakes as a group project in December. January's card making venture was helpful for those who don't normally tackle this craft. And even if you have been making cards for years, it's always nice to create with friends, as it is relaxing and less of a chore. Not sure what February will bring, but it's always fun to learn new skills and create something different. As of this writing, we don't have a volunteer to organize our 2022 holiday dinner party. If you ask any of the ladies who have done this in the past, they will tell you it is truly a fun experience and is guaranteed to get you into the holiday spirit. Please consider helping out for our holiday event. Our Paper Crafting group meets on Mondays from 1 to 3 pm in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room, with the exception of the second Monday of each month. Peek your head in to check out our group. We enjoy monthly birthday luncheons on Thursdays, to utilize and support our own restaurant. Reservations must be made for this gathering. Please contact either Elaine Perkins at (951) 334-3119 or Sallie Flesher (951) 902-9768 if you have any questions. There is no fee to join. Paper Crafting (Formerly Scrapbooking) Did you know that our club has been around for approximately 30 years? One of our members has been making hats and booties for babies at San Gorgonio Hospital and still going strong to date. A lot of our members have been very faithful and put in their time and we thank them for the many years of service and devotion to our group. One of our members, Marilyn Crowell, has decided to hang up her thread and needle and we thank her for her past 15+ years of dedication and support. She has been my right hand since I came on board in 2016. So this article is to say to you ladies who have expressed an interest, come on board and see what keeps us going over these many years. We'd like to keep our group as active as possible but with COVID, we have cut back to meeting just two times a month – the first and third Tuesdays at 12:30 to 2:30 pm in the Arts & Crafts Room. If you have any questions in the meantime just call me (Gail) at (951) 797-3589 and I will give you a call back.
