Neighborhood Watch was proud to present our very own, Len
Tavernetti, who in January's meeting presented detailed information
regarding the Conservancy. Len is our resident expert and the
Conservancy Committee chair. If you were unable to attend, Len
wrote a series of three excellent articles for the Breeze. In November
2020, he covered the Importance of the Conservancy. In December
2021, he explained the buffer zone. In February 2021, he addressed
the collection basins. The articles are available on the Four Seasons
website under "The Breeze" archived editions.
As we continue to strive to present relevant information pertaining
to our community, we have a full year of speakers lined up. On Feb.
9, we have Doug Tani from Waste Management who will cover the
new rules for food waste. Since all of our food waste now needs to
be discarded with the green waste, Doug will clear up any questions
we have pertaining to this new rule. Please mark your calendars and
plan to attend and be informed.
Every month, in addition to our speakers, the Beaumont Police
Department attends and provides us with current information
regarding our city.
February is a bonus month for Neighborhood Watch with National
Night Out occurring on Feb. 24. For those who have not attended in
the past, we have many guest speakers. Invitations were mailed to a
list of dignitaries including police chiefs and city managers in both
Banning and Beaumont, CHP and Riverside County Sheriff. This
year, we will have a food truck for dinner prior to the meeting. Watch
for the flyer at The Lodge and the Daily Report for the menu and
order form. You can order and pay for food in advance and pick up
the day of the event.
The Neighborhood Watch Steering committee is always looking for
volunteers to join the committee. If you are interested, we meet the
first Tuesday of every month in the RCN at 11:15 am. This is where
we plan the monthly meetings. Neighborhood Watch meetings are
held the third Wednesday of each month in the Ballroom at 10 am.
