28 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | FEBRUARY 2022
Happy New Year to everyone! Kona the Wonder Poodle here with this
month's Canine Corral report.
It's been typical winter weather here in the Pass, but some of us are still
finding some sunny days to take our humans out and play in the Canine
Corral. We all know that if the ground is wet, the Corral will be closed until
it dries out, which makes sense. I hate it when my feet get wet or dirty.
Weed control is an ongoing effort in the Corral and even more so after the
recent rains. While our humans do have to use weed killer, it is applied later
in the day, so it dries totally by the next day. I know this is a concern to some
of our humans, but we are usually too busy playing to pay any attention to
the treated areas.
I love treats! Most of us do. But if your person is going to bring treats, you
must be sure to eat them all, or tell them to pick up the leftovers as they do
attract more ants. Our people have gotten good control of the ant population
and we all want to keep it that way.
Don't forget our Honor Plaques. There are so many nice ones on the
perimeter of the Corral, memorializing our sister and brother pets and their
people. Some just invite more of us to play. Applications for membership
in the Corral or for Honor Plaques can be picked up at the front desk in The
Lodge.
I understand that there may be a Grand Opening or Dedication Ceremony
planned for late spring. We hear the people talking about it and can't wait.
But, until then, I am very happy to go and chase my ball or Frisbee.
See you at the Corral! ~ Kona, teridimarino@gmail.com
