FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | FEBRUARY 2022 29 Finance Committee Hopefully by now, all of us are paying our slightly higher dues and we are grumbling slightly less about it. In looking forward to the rest of 2022, our Finance Committee expects local, national and world-wide economies to stabilize. We are expecting to see some recovery and growth as this COVID pandemic wanes. Our history of the flu epidemic of 1918 tells us that we will have about three years of impact from this current public health crisis and resulting financial downturn. Can you believe that we are now beginning our third year of COVID-19? To my bemused surprise, I realized some savings this past season when I located and reused my winter holiday themed cloth face masks from 2020. Hopefully many of you may have experienced this oddly fun new holiday tradition. The best news is our association remains financially healthy, is well taken care of, and continues to move forward during this pandemic. Our Board, staff, committees, clubs, groups, and classes are very active and invested in making our community the best it can be. During the Finance Committee's regular monthly meeting held Dec. 28, the financial statement for November was reviewed and recommended for Board approval. In addition, the Committee approved six expenditure proposals, evaluated our current cash position, and made investment recommendations for the next quarter's maturing instruments. Highlights of the November financial statement are: Total Cash is $10,991,518 including operating cash of $2,054,945 (checking and CDs) and reserve assets of $8,936,573. Our HOA Reserve is 107.37% funded. We are at a total year-to-date (YTD) net income loss of $79,602. This deficit position was budgeted for 2021 and includes $90,679 of planned capital expenditures that are not funded by our monthly dues. For 2021, the Board approved the use of surplus operating funds for capital expenses up to $252,379 and operating expenses up to $75,600. Currently, we are well below both of these limits and will remain so at Dec. 31, 2021. Homeowners are welcome to attend the Finance Committee's regularly scheduled monthly meetings held on the last Tuesday of each month. Our next meeting will be Tuesday, Feb. 22 at 1 pm. Please check the Daily Report for meeting location. ~ Claudia Rozzi, cc2682@outlook.com Our team is very excited about our Feb. 12 event, The Classics of Rock 'N' Soul Valentine Party. We still have tickets available for $30 per person and you can get your tickets at The Lodge front desk. This tribute show features music by Chuck Berry, Aretha Franklin, and Elvis Presley. Las Vegas comedian and impressionist Curtis B. will emcee, interweaving some of his own classic tributes to famous TV and film characters like Norton from the The Honeymooners, Groucho, and many others. Don't miss this show. Get your tickets now and bring your sweetheart to our Valentine party. The doors open at 5:15 pm and show starts at 6 pm. Bring your own food and favorite beverage. We will have coffee, water, and dessert. We will have a costume contest for best 50s and 60s dress with first, second, and third place prizes awarded. We will also have four raffle baskets and one door prize. Please bring extra cash for our raffles to help raise funds for our next event. The Social Committee appreciates all the support. Hope to see all of you at this awesome event. ~ Loretta Ramsey, lorettaramsey@aol.com, (714) 803-6744 Social Committee Facilities Committee At our last meeting, we discussed the ongoing construction of the new shuffleboard court with members representing the shuffleboard group.
