62 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | FEBRUARY 2022 We are in the month of February. This month is one of the last two months that were added to the original Roman calendar. Also, it is the month of Aquarius and Pisces birthdays and it is the shortest month of the year and the last month of winter. Hoorah! I am hoping that this month also brings some good news for all of us impatient shuffleboard players. By the time you read this article, the four new shuffleboard courts should be completed. This project has been a major headache for all parties involved. However, before we can safely play on these courts, there is still quite a bit of cement work as well as a retaining/pony wall to be built in order to complete the area and make it safe to use and to provide easy access to the courts. It is my understanding that because of COVID, our community is having great difficulty getting bids from contractors on the finishing phase of this project. So until we can get these bids and then have the Board make a decision as to which contractor will be hired to finally complete this project, the story goes on. I will keep you posted. On a lighter note, we are playing every Monday and Saturday mornings at 9 am at the shuffleboard courts at The Lodge. A great group of people play and everyone is welcome. We are always looking for new players. It is an easy game to learn and one can get up to speed in no time. We choose new teams every time we play so you get to socialize with different residents and keep the matches interesting. It is competitive, but mostly we are there for a little exercise, fresh air, and some fun. So after your morning coffee and/or breakfast, come on out and join us. After four weeks off, our throws were a little rusty, with the exception of Harry Henderson. His first throw for 2022 was a "ringer." I'm so glad I was his partner that day — Harry is a first-rate partner and the senior member of our group. Congratulations Harry. I'm looking forward to future outings at our venue with the most beautiful view of the snow-capped mountains in the background. I just love it! If you want to add something really special to your life here at Four Seasons, come out and join us. Your spouse will probably enjoy it as much or more than you do. We have quarterly get-togethers with your significant others involved. We play at The Summit every Wednesday at 9 am. I'm hoping for an upgrade to our venue this year, which I requested three months ago.
