34 | THE COLONY NEWS | FEBRUARY 2022 | CLUB NEWS Actors Studio It's February and love is in the air! May it be a good month for you and your families. DATE CHANGE! Due to an unfortunate conflict of scheduling on the Colony master calendar, our "Show of Comedy Skits" has been rescheduled for Saturday, May 14, and Sunday, May 15, at 7 pm in the Auditorium. We look forward to being able to present to The Colony residents an evening of comedy! Ticket sales information will be in future articles. Although our group was disappointed to have our show postponed to May, we are already rehearsing and planning scene design and designing posters, tickets and programs. If any of you would like to participate in any of our projects, you would be most welcome. We have already cast for the skits; this, however, does not mean that we are not looking for those in our community who would like to test their acting skills as an understudy for one or more roles in the skits or have an acting role in future shows! Technical, artistic and behind-the-scenes jobs need assistance and would be greatly appreciated. Our workshops continue to be held in the Annex on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month from 3 to 5 pm. A little business will be discussed at each meeting, and some theatrical exercises and rehearsals will also be on the agenda for the workshops. The directors of each skit are responsible for their individual rehearsal times, which, if needed, can be flexible. We would love to have more of our community involved in the varied jobs offered in our group. Don't be shy! Come to one of our workshops to see what we are all about. I'll give you a hint: we specialize in having fun! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me, Chuck Gordon (661) 714-3847, Alan Scharf (702) 767-3020 or Dona Wurzel (951) 325-5378. By Marsha Tobolski, 562-244-9223 The Colony Strummers are inviting anyone interested in having fun while learning an easy instrument to join us each Friday at 1 pm in the Annex. We play, we sing and we laugh a lot. No need to read music and we don't care about how well or badly you sing. Our music ranges from old time folk tunes to pop and rock and roll. Come check us out and sing along with us. We have a hootenanny good time! For more information, please give me a call. Strummers By Judy Moore, 949-468-7375 Michael Reagan, one of our most experienced members, has been involved in genealogy for nearly 30 years. He has been a volunteer at an LDS Family History Center for 28 years; a vice-president for Questing Heirs, South Bay Cities, and the British Isles Family History Society. In addition, he served as newspaper editor for Temecula Valley Genealogical Society. Michael has given talks on photo editing at several genealogical conferences and has a genealogical database of 56,105 names. He spoke to us last year on photo editing using My Heritage and has generously volunteered to speak to us again. His topic for this meeting will be "Do it Yourself Photo Restoration." He will teach us how to get the most from our scanner and how to use FREE software. Our meeting this month is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 8, at 1 pm, in the Annex. Visitors are welcome to attend and are advised to sign in at 12:45 pm. Please stay up to date with safety precautions that the HOA may change for those entering the Clubhouse. Members will be notified by email should there be any changes to or cancellation of our meeting. Genealogy By Kathleen Brown, 698-5244
