crusin' cronies The "Automobile Aficionados Group" or "Car Buffs" meets on the first Saturday of each month (except in December). We welcome all Sun Lakers and guests who enjoy car talk, taking tours with our new or old cars and having a meal out. Our first Saturday of the month meeting begins from 8 to 8:30 am in the parking lot of the Main Clubhouse to show off our cars, look at everyone else's cars, and socialize. From there, we either meet in the Clubhouse or caravan to a different location to have our monthly meeting and breakfast. The exact location is announced well ahead of time. Our next meeting will be Sat., Aug. 3. All group activities are planned, organized and directed by volunteers. We are a great group. Join us. In August of 2012 they purchased a 1927 Ford Model A Roadster called the Sassy 27. It has a 350 V-8 engine with a 350 trans. Chuck has always been a car enthusiast and was involved in various types of racing in the mid 70s to mid 80s and always wanted a hot rod. I guess you could say he is working on his third mid life crisis. He used to own a 350 Z, sold that and bought the Sassy. He had some body work done, gave the Sassy a new paint job with flames and has more improvements planned. Chuck and Betty are members of the Crusin Cronies and will be driving the Sassy in the Fourth of July and Stagecoach day parades. They enjoy going to the Crusin Cronies' meetings, car shows and museums. Attention all fellow RVers who are living in Sun Lakes. If you would like to enjoy the company of good friends and fun times, you are invited to join our club. We offer planned activities at each of our rallies with your choice of participation. Activities may include a round of golf, bocce ball, ring toss or bean bag baseball. Some members gather for card games in the evenings. Not the gaming type?
