Red Car Revival Fri., Oct. 11, 9:15 am – 6 pm, $69 pp, lunch included. Relive the days of the Red Cars! The Pacific Electric Red Cars, prominent electric trolleys in Southern California from the early 1900s to the 1940s, linked sparsely populated towns. By the late 1950s the Big Red Cars began to fade and by the 1960s were gone. When the Waterfront Red Car Line was inaugurated in 2003, it marked the first time in more than 40 years that Red Cars had run anywhere in L.A. using a historic Red Car route. This fun day begins with a stop for lunch at the Red Car Brewery & Restaurant. Upon arrival, the Brewmaster will explain how their beers are crafted and answer any questions. Later you'll take a seat in the restaurant to enjoy a specially prepared lunch. After lunch, you are off to San Pedro to visit the Fire Station Museum. Housed in one of the oldest buildings still standing, the Old Station 36 includes some remarkable LAFD apparatus and artifacts from the most famous fires in this part of the city. Finally you will board a replica of one of the historic Red Cars for a ride back in time. A final stop at the L.A. Maritime is also included to round out your day. Lunch Menu includes: Choice of Motorman Bacon Cheeseburger, Pulled Pork Sandwich, or Red Car Club Sandwich. Each entrée includes fries, coleslaw, a triple chocolate brownie, and a coffee, ice tea, or lemonade.
