6 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | MARCH 2022 | Welcome to the month of March — March, hmm, that's when "Beware of the Ides of March" got it's start way back in 44 BC with the Ides meaning the 15th of the month of course. Did you know that Julius Caesar was only 55 years old when his so-called friend Brutus back-stabbed him?" Did you need to be reminded of the "IDES?" Probably not — but out of boredom, I googled it and that's what I re-learned. I say that because most of the time I can't remember what I had for dinner last night, therefore, I think I had already knew that by graduation, how about you? Something more current and happier that happens in March is Saint Paddy's day! It occurs two days after the Ides, and even if we aren't Irish, we seem to get really happy on the 17th. Besides the wearing of the green, we color our beer and whatever else we can turn green, but most certainly, we celebrate by dining on corned beef and cabbage dinners. I don't know if the Irish are totally responsible for this delightful meal but it certainly is a fun way to appease ones appetite on any day! Have you guessed it? Francisco will be obliging us with — corned beef and cabbage special, you can dine-in or have it to-go but please make your reservation early. Sometimes it's hard for Francisco to catch those little corned beefs at the last minute, especially if they are hiding! Seriously, we think things are finally settling down, then new edicts avail and we go back to wondering when, if ever, things will be normal. Please remember, your food orders To-Go are always welcome and appreciated but it's also fun to see your smiling faces. We are seeing an increase of people coming in and enjoying their meals at "off busy hours," when they don't have to wait because they failed to reserve a table. There is limited seating at the Bistro, so tables come at a premium during peak times. People are returning to and enjoying the Sunday Brunch and the first and fourth Friday night specials. So keep on coming, there is not a better deal in town. If you have forgotten about these specials, mark them on your calendar again and get your name on the reservation list so we don't run short of food. Oh by the way, that monster that steals an hour of sleep from us every spring will be sneaking up again on the Sun., March 13, which is the Brunch day. So beware, remind one of your great-grand-kids to get over here and reset your clocks. Tell them it's a pain in your back side or you could threaten them with no funds for college! That should work. The March winner ticket for the Sunday Brunch is Joan Haneishi; the ticket was drawn by Jean Farr while she and her friend were enjoying their breakfast at the Bistro. See you next month!
