22 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | MARCH 2022 | Team Sunshine "With each sunrise we are given a chance for a new beginning!" These first couple of months of 2022 have been a bit challenging and we look forward to better things as March may "roar in like a lion," but hopefully will "leave like a lamb." Cards and Phone Team (photo below right): Team Sunshine would like to introduce our Cards and Phone Teams. All through the pandemic this group has been Sunshine's most active. While most of us remained sequestered in our homes, these ladies diligently continued to send those get well, thinking of you and sympathy cards. These were then followed by phone calls just to say hi and see how recipients were doing. Team Sunshine is most visible as we assist with Celebrations of Life, but we feel the mission of this group is one of our most important jobs. Team Sunshine tries to reach as many of our residents as possible when they need comfort or cheering. We ask that you let us know if you have a neighbor or friend here in Four Seasons who may be struggling with isolation, a recent injury, lingering illness, or the loss of a family member. It is amazing how something as simple as an unexpected card or phone call, can brighten someone's day. Celebrations of Life: The family of Jerry Hobbs held a beautiful tribute to Jerry in February. We have been notified of the passing of Linda Saxe, Lori Worrel, Fran Spina and John Mushallo and have reached out to their families to extend our condolences and offer our assistance. Prayer Requests: For those wishing prayer, a request box is provided in the Multipurpose Room for your convenience. Prayer cards are provided. If you are interested in joining the prayer group, please call Marietta Ruppaner, they have once again begun meeting in-person. How to contact Team Sunshine: Caring Connection cards that detail Team Sunshine's services are available at the Lodge. You may also call Co-Chairs Brenda Beers at (951) 306-6670 or Margie Culton at (951) 491-4058. Closing Thoughts: "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched – they must be felt with the heart." ~ Helen Keller Happy Campers RV Club Happy Campers is open to all residents. We meet the first Saturday of the month at 10 am at the Lodge in the Card Room. We are very busy planning several trips, both short and long. We have already had two trips in 2022 — to Emerald Cove in Parker, Calif., for fun on the river and Quartzsite, Ariz., for the big outdoor RV Show. We are in the planning stages for upcoming trips to The Springs at Borrego in May. We currently have 19 RVs signed up for Pismo Beach in September, leaving us six open spots still available. We are also planning a trip to Benson, Ariz, in October. 2023 plans are already in the works with a trip being developed for October to the Grand Canyon. Russ continues to work on our logo and signage. We had a big turnout for our kickoff potluck. One thing I have learned this past year, Happy Campers throw a great potluck! Sound like a group you'd like to join but don't have an RV? Rent one and come hit the road with us! This month's pictures (below) were summited by Russ Brown (Buddy driving the RV), Carol Eoff (Emerald Cove) and Christina Holt Podzimek (morning on the river, Emerald Cove). Stay safe and, as always, happy camping.
