46 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MARCH 2022 Miei Amici (My Friends) As this article is being written, the California mask mandate is still in place, but is scheduled to be lifted. No word from Riverside County, so only time will tell whether or not we'll still be wearing masks when you read this. Our February meeting was well attended and the special presentation of Italian wines was made by our own Gino Domico. It was a fun evening and we learned a lot about Italian wines. As usual, our members brought food to share that, on this evening, complemented the wines being served. So bread, cheeses, salami, and other Italian favorites were available to share and pair with the wines. A great time was had by all. Our next meeting will be on March 10 at 5:30 pm in The Courts Multipurpose Room. You do not have to be Italian to join our group and come to our meetings. Our membership is open to all our residents, so put the date on your calendar and plan to attend. We would love to have you visit with us. To all our Italian American Club members and all the residents of Four Seasons, please stay safe and healthy. ~ Barbara Dipoma (805) 377-2616 and Jerry Monahan (951) 212-8898 Italian American Club Seasoned Solos Hello to everyone. Once again, we had another month of fun. It began with a night at the local movie house. It was an impromptu event discussed at last month's meeting and several of us attended. Our monthly birthday lunch was at Steer and Stein in Hemet. We had a large table and everyone enjoyed their meal with some of us taking a to-go box home. Both the birthday girls and the rest of us had a good time. We also went to a concert held at a high school in Hemet. We weren't sure what to expect but were ready for the adventure… and wow! What a wonderful surprise! The Hemet Concert Association has been presenting concerts to the San Jacinto Valley since 1972. The program featured world-class pianist, Sara Davis Buechner. Ms. Buechner opened with stories of what she was about to play with a great sense of humor. The compositions were so amazing and the theater was very comfortable. Ms. Buechner played three of her own compositions which brought the concert to a close. The entire concert was awesome and those we spoke with after the concert agreed. There was also a day of fun and games. We met in the RCN and played scrabble and card games that were new to a few of us and favorites of the weekly regulars. Learning a couple of new card games was a lot of fun and we ended the night at La Casita for food and more conversation. Later that month, we went to breakfast at Polly's Pies in Hemet. The food was freshly prepared and tasty. Our server, Rose, has been serving at the restaurant for more than 22 years. Ask to sit in her section next time you go. Many of us carried out cinnamon rolls and pie for family and ourselves. The cinnamon rolls are huge and you can customize how much icing and how many nuts you want. Looking around the restaurant, cinnamon rolls were a big favorite. We hope you can make our next meeting on March 4 at 6 pm in The Lodge Arts & Crafts Room. It will be great to see you. We have new members added during Club Day and some have already joined the fun. Please bring your calendars, as we schedule our adventures at the meeting. We had planned 10 things for February alone! If you have questions, please call or text Joyce Olson at (951) 850-3055 or Nyla Cheely at (951) 285-7112. ~ Nyla Cheely Birthday girls (L-R) Mo Stayton, Sheri Novelli, and Phyllis Noreika
