FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MARCH 2022 59
While people in the Midwest and East Coast are trying to dig
themselves out of the deep freeze, we in So Cal are enjoying the
beautiful blue sky with 60+ degree temperatures. Birds are singing,
flowers are blooming, and best of all, we are out at The Courts playing
tennis.
So, for the tennis players who are already taking advantage of the
nice weather, congratulations! But for those who are still vacillating on
whether you should try the sport, I'd encourage you to, as Nike would
say, "Just Do It." The Tennis Club offers many different activities for
everyone, regardless of skill level. The following are some of the most
popular ones:
1. Saturday Drills/Class – This weekly drills/class is geared for all
levels. If you are already playing tennis, you can fine tune your various
strokes. If you haven't played for a while, you can brush up on your
techniques. And if you have never played before, we will teach you
from the ground up. We will even provide a loaner racket for you to try.
It's all absolutely free. Need I say more?
2. Monthly Play Day – On the last Saturday of each month, we host
an event in which players are randomly teamed up with other players
to play against another team. Teammates are changed about every 20
minutes. All Four Seasons residents and all levels are welcome. It's
a great way to meet new friends. Here's the icing on the cake – free
pastries and coffee for all.
3. Morning and Evening Games – You can go on the Tennis Club
website to sign up and play against other players. You will be assigned
a doubles partner so you don't have to look for one before signing up.
These matches are friendly and fun. Totally stress free.
4. USTA Teams – We participate in USTA leagues to play against
teams from outside tennis clubs. Our three teams have just finished
playing in three different leagues. If you like competitive tennis, this
one is for you.
5. Intra-Club Tournaments – The Tennis Club puts on tournaments
periodically during the year. These tournaments are open to all Tennis
Club members.
So, dust off your racket, come out, and join us. If you have any
questions, feel free to contact the undersigned.
See you all at The Courts!
