Over the past few years, our Neighborhood Watch group has evolved to not only Neighborhood Watch, but also added Community Awareness. One might think they are one and the same; they are not. Neighborhood Watch, as you all know, is, "if you see something, say something." It has reminded us to remain vigilant, keep an eye on our community, notify the proper authorities to resolve issues, and not insert ourselves into the situation. We invite the Beaumont Police to speak and answer any questions at our meetings. They share what is going on in our community outside the gates of Four Seasons. Community Awareness is focused more on things that are not crime related, but relate to things we interface with every day, and to provide answers to any questions we have. As an example, in previous meetings we invited the Beaumont Cherry Valley Water District to answer questions regarding water restrictions that may be coming. They provided excellent information and answered our questions. At February's meeting, Lily Quiroa, Public Sector Manager for Waste Management in the Inland Empire, spoke about the new State of California food waste and composting policy. We received many great questions from our residents regarding how closely monitored the waste collection will be, if we can use bio-degradable bags, and what would be a violation, if any, for mixing recycle material, food waste, and regular trash. The Neighborhood Watch Steering Committee is holding a strategy-planning meeting in March to work on ideas for future meetings. The Steering Committee is always looking for people who want to get involved in the community. If you are interested, please contact Anita Worthen at (951) 595-5396. Neighborhood Watch meets the second Wednesday of the month at 10 am in the Ballroom. Hope to see everyone there, and let's all be informed! ~ Kathy Craven kathycraven@rocketmail.com Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete the survey as it had been several years since one was performed. Since we are at full build out it gave us a larger picture than the last one. From the previous survey we were able to complete several items residents' thought were important to the community. We completed the expansion of the Amphitheatre and the Canine Corral, added shade over the Court's pergola by the pool, completed the putting green, and lastly added stop signs to name a few… all great suggestions received from our residents. We received so many good ideas of what our residents would like to see our community look like. Over the next few months, Community Planning (CPC) will begin to organize the results, prioritize, and craft a plan of action. Some of the things CPC was looking for and what they are currently working on, are how our current residents see Four Seasons for future generations who will be living here. Remember, people who are 45 or 50 today could be living here in the next 10 years. What they are looking for could be very different than what was originally built here. For example, they may be in a generation to whom gaming is important and an electronic gaming room may be needed. The feedback really was spot on and will provide a great start. If you are a forward-thinking person and would like to contribute your knowledge to our committee, we're always looking for someone like you. CPC meets the fourth Thursday of the month in the RCN Conference Room at 9 am and welcomes anyone to come with ideas. ~ Kathy Craven kathycraven@rocketmail.com 26 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MARCH 2022 Community Planning Committee Neighborhood Watch & Community Awareness
