FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MARCH 2022 29 Finance Committee Have you ever wondered how all of our association business gets done on a daily basis? I can tell you that it happens because of many dedicated individuals who come together to make this Four Seasons community a wonderful place to live, play, and work. Some of those individuals are like you and me, residents who want to help our community be the best it can be. We serve as Board and committee members, donating our time and talents to this corporation. Yes, our association is a corporation, a non-profit mutual benefit corporation under California law with homeowners as the shareholders. In addition to us homeowners/shareholders, we hire professional services and contractors to provide onsite staff to handle the day-to- day administrative, maintenance, janitorial and landscaping work. You too can lend a hand to keep us a top-notch 55+ community. Please consider joining a committee or running for the Board, attend meetings, give your opinions in our surveys, respond with comments on 30-day notices, vote in the elections, thank your many neighbors who do serve us in so many ways, and read the Daily Report. Stay informed and engaged about our progress and your investment in this corporation. We are in this together! During the January Finance Committee's meeting, the financial statement for December 2021 was reviewed and recommended for Board approval. In addition, the Committee reviewed nine expenditure proposals for the 2022 Budget, made six investment recommendations, and reviewed various sub-committee reports. Highlights of the December financial statement are: Total Cash is $10,940,693 including operating cash of $1,950,594 (checking and CDs), and reserve assets of $8,990,099. Our HOA Reserve is 108.02 percent funded. We are at a total year-to-date net income loss of $112,399. This deficit position was budgeted for 2021 and includes $100,692 of capital and $11,707 of operational expenditures not funded by our 2021 monthly dues. The Board had approved the use of surplus funds for capital expenses up to $252,379 and operating expenses up to $75,600 in 2021. As you can see, we were well below both of these limits at our fiscal year-end of Dec. 31, 2021. Homeowners are welcome to attend the Finance Committee's regularly scheduled monthly meetings held on the last Tuesday of each month. Our next meeting will be Tuesday, March 29 at 1 pm. Please check the Daily Report for meeting location. Come and join us in serving our community. ~ Claudia Rozzi, cc2682@outlook.com For the month of March there is NO event, but we are getting ready for April's event. We are excited to bring you Las Vegas award-winning performers, a Bette Middler and Liza Minnelli tribute, on April 23 at 6 pm. Ticket sales are March 7 at 9 am in The Lodge Ballroom and are $25 per person. We will have theater-style seating and will have coffee, water, and sweets. Bring your own beverage and stop for dinner at the Kopper Kettle. Please bring extra cash to help raise money for our next event. The Social Committee is so thankful for all your support. ~ Loretta Ramsey, lorettaramsey@aol.com, (714) 803-6744 Social Committee Facilities Committee A contractor attended our last meeting to discuss the problems with the re-staining of The Lodge front entry along with ideas for the loggia area of The Lodge. There was a discussion on shade material application to the two pergolas at The Courts. The committee voted to use some of the newly purchased umbrellas instead to see if that will solve the shade problem in those areas. A proposal for a new flag pole to be installed at The Veterans Park was discussed. The committee voted to not go forward with this project due to cost, noise, and manpower to maintain. The Facilities Committee meets the second Wednesday of the month at 9 am in the RCN Conference Room. ~ Gino Domico, Gdomico@gmail.com
