64 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MARCH 2022 January found 15 members enjoying the San Jacinto Mountains. The scenery and views were spectacular. We left Four Seasons at 8 am and caravaned to East Hemet where we began our run up the Bee Canyon Truck Trail. Bee Canyon took us through the beauty of the San Bernardino National Forest. With the recent snow and rain, we found the creek crossing and waterfall as beautiful as we have ever seen it. We finished our run in Idyllwild just in time for a great lunch at The Red Kettle restaurant and returned to Four Seasons about 3 pm. If this looks like fun to you, please join us at our regular meetings on the second Tuesday of each month in the RCN Conference Room. We generally go out on a day run on the second Thursday of each month, time to be determined. The reason is that I caught the VIRUS. My wife brought it home to me from her work. I was down for three weeks and there is still collateral damage. I have been negative now for two weeks. Has anyone ever come up to you while you were fishing and said "You should have been here last week. The fishing was really good then." I usually tell them that I was fishing here last week and the fish weren't biting then either. If you know how to catch fish, then the fishing is always good. Luck plays a little part in fishing, however knowledge is the factor that is going to put fish on your table. Right now all the local lakes have planted trout. All you have to do is call the lake you want to fish at and ask for a fishing report. I have caught trout in the middle of the day. You can catch planted trout all day long. If you have the right bait and tackle, you are good to go. It is also smart to go with someone who knows how to catch fish. There are going to be times you can't catch fish no matter what you do. However, the more you go fishing the better chance you have of catching some good eating fish. Tight lines to all my friends and remember to enjoy the fun of fishing. Beware the Ides of March — it's my birthday! ~ Richard Carrasco Above: Black Diamond is the USFS's most difficult trail designation but our group made it easily Left: Our group enjoying the Strawberry Creek crossing en route to Pine Cove A few of us veered left for the "Black Diamond" route as others continued up Bee Canyon
