FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MARCH 2022 9
By Jerry Monahan, Board President, and Laurie Larson, Chair
of Communications Board
The Pass Action Group (PAG) requested and received a continuance
on the scheduled appeal that was planned for Jan. 31. The developers
of the project also requested more time to prepare after the attorney
for the PAG delivered a 17-page letter along with 400 additional pages
of documentation to the city of Banning.
The new date for the appeal hearing was Feb. 17. This meeting was
open to the public at the Banning City Council chambers. The date,
day, and time of the hearing was listed in our Daily Report in days
prior to the meeting.
On Friday, Jan. 21, and Saturday, Jan. 29, the PAG led protest/
awareness marches. The protests were held on Highland Springs
and Second Street to bring attention to the communities of Banning,
Beaumont, and the surrounding areas of PAG's opposition to the
warehouse project. There were approximately 150 people from Sun
Lakes, Four Seasons, and other local communities.
The goal was to get more information to community members and
get more people reaching out to the Banning City Council members
showing displeasure and opposition to the warehouse location.
Overall, many Banning and Beaumont citizens were reached by
these protests and other actions taken by the PAG. The hope is that
more residents of our area will contact Banning city officials and
have their voices heard.
