I discovered his presence while cleaning the shelves that housed the Classics. Here he was hiding away from all of us. He sat reading a copy of Ulysses by Irish author, James Joyce. Fergie, known for his tricks and pranks, laughs at me and proceeds to catch me up on all the news. He admits that he had a bit of fun during Do Dues Day. He magically enticed folks to wander into our beautiful space by singing songs like Danny Boy and When Irish Eyes Are Smiling. Fergie is proud to announce that we have 290 members as of 2022 and he wants to thank you for all your support. He encourages those who missed Do Dues Day to drop off their check for $15 per household at the front desk or stop by the library Monday through Friday and hand it in to the librarians on duty. This fee will give you access to hundreds of Reserved Books and much more! Even Fergie admits that it is the best bang for your buck. Did you know that the Village Vets have a writing group that focuses on publishing stories of their experiences during wartime? In its fourth year, OHCC has nine stories written by these vets. These stories can be found in our library in the Veteran section. If you check one out, please remember to return it so others might read their stories. Dean Koontz's new novel Quick Silver is imaginative and thought- provoking. If you like fast action with monsters, bad guys, strange events, and unforeseen plot twists, this book will keep you turning the pages. Quinn Quicksilver was abandoned as a baby on a blacktop highway in Arizona. He was rescued by three men who delivered him to an orphanage in Phoenix. At 19, he had a burning desire to find out who he was and why he was abandoned. His journey revealed a great deal about his past and the dangers he would encounter because of his hidden secrets. If you enjoy a touch of Science Fiction, and a hero who needs to save the world, this is your book. With all the rain in February and so may gloomy days, Fergie once again reminds us, "It's no use carrying an umbrella if your shoes leak." ~ Sally Benton Library Association MARCH BOOK BUYS
