HOA NEWS | THE COLONY NEWS | MARCH 2022 | 3
Sitting here looking ahead, I realize that
this has the potential to be a monumental
month and moment for life here in The
Colony. The golf course issue (after
nearly 20 years) sits on the precipice of a
CONCLUSION. Each of you reading this will
need to come to grips with a decision that
will effect "life" as we know it here in The
Colony. In the coming days (unless the court
delays), we should learn the outcome of the
legal process and the lien. Shortly after that
the Board and Golf Course Committee will
be sharing, during a town hall meeting, the
final details, both pro and con, regarding
the potential acquisition of the golf course.
There will be three sessions on March 24
(11 am, 2 pm and 5 pm) for you to both
hear and ask questions before a community
ballot vote is taken. Your HOA Board plans
to have the ballot mailed to each member
in early April 2022, wherein you will be
given 30 days to return your ballot with
your vote. Your ballot will be mailed to an
offsite Supervisor/Inspector of Elections for
tabulations.
As stated above, the final decision to
acquire the golf course lies in your hands.
This vote has the potential to be the most
consequential decision in the short history of
The Colony. There have been numerous town
hall meetings, eBlasts, and informational
articles in The Colony News over the past few
months. We are all informed and the time
is NOW for YOU to seize the moment and
express YOUR opinion as to our future. We
know the good and the bad, the pros and the
cons, and ACTION is required to determine
how the HOA Board is to proceed.
As your HOA Board president, I want
to thank you for your perseverance,
participation, and patience as we near (what
we hope to be) the end of this 20 year saga.
The journey has had many twists and turns,
ups and downs, starts and delays, and now it
sits on the precipice of a final CONCLUSION.
Only one step remains… YOUR VOTE.
From the Board of Directors
By Walt Bowman, President
"…the final
decision to
acquire the golf
course lies in your
hands. This vote
has the potential
to be the most
consequential
decision in the
short history of
The Colony."
