We want to thank the many people who have been supporting our karaoke shows every month and making it possible for our Goodtimes Karaoke events to continue as we get through the COVID pandemic. April is a great time to celebrate the many things we can be thankful for, like good friends, good food, good health and of course good music. Blast. This month on Fri., April 25, Karaoke will be held in the South Clubhouse starting at around 5:30 or 6 pm, depending on the availability of the room. Happy Easter, everyone. 30 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | APRIL 2022 | Sun Lakes Follies The Follies are coming Fri., Sept. 30, Sat., Oct. 1 and our matinee on Sun., Oct. 2! It's never too soon to get your "act together." Our theme this year will be "Hollywood Palace." It will be full of fun and entertainment with comedy-type short commercial skits. Please come to our next general meeting on Thurs., April 21 at 1 pm in the South Clubhouse. We will have a guest appearance and discuss what YOU will be doing in our show! Please call Lloyd Friedman at (951) 797-3599 for more information. Karaoke Group Chorale The Sun Lakes Chorale is open to membership for any Sun Lakes resident. It is divided into five sections: Sopranos, Altos, Tenors, Basses, and Baritones. We practice Mondays from 9:30 am to 12:15 pm. Prior to each of our two annual concerts, additional practices for individual sections are held. We are well into rehearsals for our Spring Concert series, "Rhythms of Spring," which will be Thursday and Friday, April 29 and 30 at 7 pm, and Sunday, May 1 at 3 pm. ICC ICC will hold its April event on Thursday evening, April 14, in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. Doors will open at 5:30 pm for all "ICC Nerds," the theme for the evening. Steve Urkel, from the TV show Family Matters, made being a nerd ultra-cool, so dig out one of your nerdiest ensembles for an evening of fun. American Made will return to provide the music for dancing and listening. The dinner entrees for the event will be Chicken Marsala as well as a vegetarian meal. Sign-ups for the April event will be held on April 7 at the South Clubhouse beginning at 3 pm. Please select your meal at the time of sign-up. The price for members is $28 and $30 for guests. If you miss the April 7 sign-up date and want to attend the dinner and dance, contact Donna Leone at (951) 797-0832 no later than the following Sunday afternoon. If you are unable to attend the event after signing up, you can request a take-out meal box. Contact Ann Hoefert no later than 2 pm on April 14 at (909) 553-3292 and she will make arrangements for you to pick up your meal in the Bus Room at 6:15 pm on the night of the event. Membership is $25 per person per calendar year and new members are always welcome. There is also a "try before you buy" opportunity and you may attend as a guest once for $30 before joining.
