| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | APRIL 2022 | 3 By Marsha Midgett Happy spring! With the recent rains, everything is green and flowers are starting to bloom. The earth seems to renew itself with the display of the magical colors of Mother Nature. There are things happening in Sun Lakes that "renew" our community. First and foremost is the age-verification process that takes place every other year to maintain our 55+ community status. You received a form in the March Lifestyles. The form needs to be filled out with a copy of your proof of age, and returned to either the Administration Office or the Main Clubhouse reception desk. If you misplaced that form, you can find one on the Sun Lakes website, at the Main Clubhouse, or in the Administration Office. Anyone there will help you copy your proof-of-age document if you are unable to copy it at home. Please get your completed form in before July 1. If you do, you will be entered into a drawing to receive one of six $50 Sun Lakes gift certificates. The second is voting on your choice for Board members, District and Alternate District Delegates, the CC&R proposed change and the drought-tolerant project. If you need additional information on these, please see the website. If you have not yet mailed in your ballot, please do so. To have your votes counted, it is strongly recommended that your ballot is received at the Inspector of Elections office by April 11. Please make your voice heard and cast your ballot! The election will take place in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom on April 13 at 9 am. Immediately following the results, the newly seated Board elects the officers for 2022-23. I feel truly fortunate to live in a community where people care about one another. Though changes have occurred over the years and the changing demographics are at the forefront of the community, it is still one of the best and most affordable 55+ communities in California. As we spring into a more "normal" life, let's renew our resolve to be a friendly, caring neighbor to one another. A smile or a wave can make someone's day!
