Friends we will miss
John David Etz passed away at 94 years
old on January 29, 2022 in the comfort of his home,
surrounded by family, and pain free just the way he
wanted… other than passing away on the tee after
an amazing swing!
Some of John's favorite things:
• Loving wife Sandra, married for 66 years.
• Children; daughter Cindy and husband Bill,
son Jay and wife Dorothy, son Mark and wife
Sharon, and son Greg.
• Five granddaughters; Megan and husband
Tyler, Kayla and husband Josh, Lauren, Erika,
and Danielle and husband Tanner.
• Great grandson, Jack.
• Golf.
• Single Malt Scotch.
• Being a PGA volunteer official.
• Friends from all aspects of his life.
• Sun Lakes Follies, The Music Man, Zorba the
Greek, and any dancing & acting.
• Golf.
• Being a California Highway Patrol volunteer.
• Old movies – anything WWII, musicals, and
Jason Bourne movies to name a few.
• Golf.
• Limburger cheese, onions, and crackers.
• Dungeness crab, petrale sole, and a Ruth's
Chris steak.
• San Francisco.
• Golf.
• Catholic Faith.
• Crossword puzzles.
• Wine.
And yes, golf was a long-time passion. To this
point, he was out on the golf course until the very
end. As evident from the list above John loved life
and embraced its challenges and its joys… and
that is his legacy. We send our love to you husband,
father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.
