Our general meeting is Sun., April 10 at 2 pm in the South Clubhouse. Sun Lakes resident Joe Oakes will be the guest artist for the April meeting and will present an acrylic landscape demonstration. His landscape paintings exhibit the bright and bold colors of California and the Southwest. Oakes has been painting full time since 2008 and has won many awards throughout California. Oakes will conduct classes in acrylic landscapes on Monday, May 2, 9, and 16 from 9 am until 12 pm in the Main Clubhouse Arts & Crafts Room. The deadline to sign up for the May classes is April 25. Classes are $30 for members and $35 for non-members. Contact Lori Worby Krebs at (909) 534-8049 for more information about this class. The Art League will also be offering Open Studio Days in the Main Clubhouse Arts & Crafts Room on Sun., April 3, 12 to 3 pm and Mon., April 25, 9 am to 12 pm. Space is limited and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no host and no instruction on Open Studio Days, but time will be allowed for artists to get together to work and share ideas. Are you interested in an art class, but say "I can't draw a straight line?" Then Lori Worby Krebs' "Mindful Doodling" class might just be for you. Krebs will be offering a monthly class on Sun., April 24 and Sunday, May 29. Classes will be held in the Main Clubhouse Arts & Crafts Room from 1 to 3 pm. The cost is $10 per class (paid to the instructor) and Krebs will supply the materials for beginners. Contact Krebs at (909) 534-8049 to sign up for these relaxing and meditative artistic experiences.
