Greetings from the Solera Quilters. We meet in the Arts & Crafts
Room on Mondays at 12 pm. All are welcome.
We have ladies who are experts in various areas of quilting.
They have generously agreed to share their talents with weekly
demonstrations. We all learn new techniques and thank our friends
for sharing. Jeanne showed the group her method of finishing the
binding. Thanks to Jeanne – we learned a new "trick."
Plans are underway for our Saturday Quilting Blitz. We bring
our machines early and spend the day quilting, stopping for lunch.
Everyone has a different project they work on, and it is quite
interesting to show and share information.
Several of our quilters have accepted leadership positions with the
Pass Patchers Quilt Guild.
The Pass Patchers do a lot of charitable work, and we are proud to
support their work. These ladies worked at the Palm Springs Quilt
Show in March. Ladies who attended shared patterns and fabrics
obtained from vendors at that exhibit.
Pat, who donates to the charity "Santa Claus," displayed quilted
pillows she makes for this organization. To stuff the pillows, she uses
snippets of quilt fabric left over from larger quilts. Our gals save their
scraps for Pat – we waste nothing.
Barbara introduced us to a website that is dedicating patterns to
make quilts for Ukranian refugees. Surely our group will be following
up on this.
We encourage new residents to stop in and see what we do.
