As the days get warmer and the weather settles into pleasant springtime, now is a great time to come out and enjoy playing some pickleball. We play Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays from 8:30 to 11 am. Please note: after the time change, our start time will bump back to 7:30 am. Keep an eye on the bulletin board in front of the sports courts for the most up-to-date information. You can come anytime during the morning hours to play. We have welcomed several new players in the recent weeks, and have new nets to use. We welcome all skill levels, especially beginners who would like to learn this great game. Pickleball clinics were held in February and March put on by Bob Otto and Richard Rios, both top pickleball players from the Yucaipa Pickleball Club. About a dozen folks attended the first clinic, with most of them being novice players. The clinic was casual, but very informative on playing the sport. The attendees also got a chance to hone their skills by doing drills. For the second clinic on March 30 (not held yet as of this writing), we are expecting an even better turnout. The nice thing about these clinics is that they are free. Future clinics will be advertised on the bulletin board in front of the sports courts. C'mon on out to see what the 'fastest growing sport in America' is all about. Google this to see for yourself. We can provide paddles and balls; court shoes (and water) are strongly recommended. For more information, feel free to contact either Sue Miller at (503) 702-4273 or Sandy Stearn at (951) 797-0991. PICKLEBALL PADDLERS | LIFE IN SOLERA | APRIL 2022 | 33
