38 | LIFE IN SOLERA | APRIL 2022 |
Spring is finally arriving! Since
January, the weather for outdoor
sports has been very challenging. Tennis
players have opted for gloves, earmuffs, knit hats,
sweatshirts and lots of layered clothing. Winds and cold
weather have been particularly hard to deal with. However,
with perseverance and determination, we have continued to
play (unless the courts are just too wet). Spring begins on
March 20. We welcome warmer weather, but we also hope to
have some rainy days. In Canada, tennis players put on ice
skates to be able to play!
In March, six of us ladies attended the BNP Paradise tennis
tournament in Indian Wells. We saw several outstanding
matches, and enjoyed each other's company, watching players
warm up, and touring the grounds.
Finally, this month, as you may already know, we now have
scheduled play on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. No matter
how many people show up, everyone gets to play because we
rotate onto the courts.
