The days are getting longer, warmer, and dryer, and the evenings are becoming more pleasant. It's time to dust off the ol' golfin' sticks and get out there and commence with the cussin' and swearin.' Hopefully, now that spring has sprung (the Vernal Equinox occurred on Sun., March 20), we won't suffer any more "frost delays," and like the Robins of spring, I hope to see more of our recluse "hackers" make their return appearance on the golf course. After two years of COVID-19 fears, we're reinstating our annual Charity Golf Tournament. It's tentatively scheduled for June 14. This year's beneficiary is the Hemet Police Department's K-9 program. Here are a couple of jokes for your perusal: I hope you enjoy 'em… • I once played a golf course that was so difficult I lost two balls in the ball washer! • Two longtime golf buddies were standing on a tee box overlooking a river, getting ready to hit their tee shots. One golfer pointed down the river, turned to the other golfer and said, "Look at those idiots fishing in the rain!" Till next month, keep on swingin'. From the Membership Chair, Chaz McManis: Many new residents have moved into our community in the last few years. It has been challenging to plan for social events, or join clubs during this time. If you play golf and haven't talked with any of your neighbors about the Hemet Four Seasons Golf Club, contact me and I'll be happy to answer your questions and send you an application.
