As we enter the second quarter of 2022, COVID is hopefully in our rear view mirror. Your Board will continue using common sense as a guide when it comes to the health and safety of our residents. It's interesting to know that the dates of the two important religious holidays in April, Easter and Passover, depend on the phases of the moon and change from year to year. It can be complicated. For example, Easter falls on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the Spring Equinox. In April, we will hold our Annual Membership Meeting and elect our Homeowner Directors. The homeowner meeting will be Thurs., April 28. Every year we emphasize the importance of voting. We need a ballot return of 50 percent +1 to ensure that our election is completed. If we do not achieve this quorum, we must adjourn the meeting and start all over again, all at an additional and unnecessary cost to the Association. This year we will be electing four Directors to the seven member Board of Directors. There are seven candidates, which means your vote is important. The "Meet the Candidates" event will be a great opportunity to listen and learn more about each candidate. Serving on the Board is a privilege and a responsibility. One responsibility is to be aware of our community needs and interests. A survey was sent to our residents in March that will help your Board know what you believe is important. This will guide us going forward as we establish goals, objectives, and priorities. We will always keep in mind our Vision Statement: "It is the vision of the Board of Directors that the Four Seasons at Hemet Community Association be the area's premier 55+ active adult community." Finally, in this complex world in which we live, it is important to appreciate the little things. This means focusing on what brings us joy and happiness, instead of those things that are negative. In and around Four Seasons, we can enjoy a bench to rest on while taking a stroll, celebrate the safety of night walks with the paseo lights, smell the spring flowers, observe the beauty of the mountains, and use the Gazebo area to sit and appreciate what Four Seasons has to offer. The gestures we make and receive can brighten our day. A smile, a wave, seemingly insignificant, can make both the giver and receiver feel good. "Enjoy the little things in life, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things." ~ Robert Brault Message from the Board of Directors 2 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | APRIL 2022 | Sincerely, and on behalf of your Board of Directors, Greg Rockvam, Cliff Post, Tony Criscenti, Roxy Snider, Fred Kydd, and Barbra Balser Jim Crase President
